Create a fun Todo App by creating a FastAPI backend, persisting to SQL, and using React as the front end to talk to the API and present a user interface to end users.
FastAPI is my absolute favorite API for Python. It's fast, has schema validation and an async server built in, is typed, and is just pure python syntax.
In the first video, I'll explain why APIs are so important. Then we'll proceed building out a simple todo API and looking at it's many advantages. This video is public on YouTube.
In the second video, we'll set up a SQL database to FastAPI and learn how we can persist data to it.
Finally, in the third video, we'll build a nice, fun React application from which we can call our API routes and get data, and create, update, and delete data.
You'll learn a lot in this short course.
Prerequisites:
You should have a baseline understanding of Python, simple SQL knowledge, and everyday React and JavaScript basics.
